Waveguide-type see-through 3D head-mounted displays without accommodation vergence mismatch

Abstract

In this presentation, we introduce several approaches to avoid vergence-accommodation conflict in the head-mounted displays for augmented reality applications. Principle of holographic and light field head-mounted displays which present three-dimensional images with correct focal cue are explained with recent implementation results. Maxwellian head-mounted display which avoids vergence-accommodation conflict by completely removing the focal cue is also introduced.
