Abstract

Two schemes for enhancing the viewing angle of a three-dimension/two-dimension (3D/2D) convertible integral imaging display are proposed: The double collimated illumination scheme increases the horizontal viewing angle of the 3D images located anywhere in real and virtual fields. The diverging/converging illumination scheme selectively enhances both the horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 3D images located in one of either the real or virtual fields.
