Abstract

The gold nanoparticles in aqueous solutions using a polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) solution that possesses pendant reducing groups were prepared. A PEC with water-soluble terthiophene derivative was used for the reduction of HAuCl4 to gold nanoparticles. The formation of gold nanoparticles in PEC solution was also confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
