abstract = "Three scalar quantization strategies for practical codebook generation are proposed in this paper. All of these three strategies are implemented in MISO beamforming systems. Achievable capacities of these scenarios are derived and discussed. The numerical results show that our proposed codebook generation strategies have lower computational burden compared with other strategies based on higher dimensional vector quantization, and provide quite a small capacity loss only. Furthermore, our ongoing work shows that the proposed strategies work well for MIMO precoding systems also.",
