Abstract
A novel amino-imidazolium stationary phase based on silica was synthesized and characterized in this paper. The material with ionic and NH2 exhibited an exciting capacity of separation for liquid chromatography. A number of aromatic compounds were successfully separated by the material as the stationary phase. Resolutions and adsorption isotherms of these organic compounds were examined. Furthermore, the novel stationary phase showed a potential ability to separate biocompounds, such as alkaloids and tanshinones. The protonation of amino group was also investigated.
