Abstract

Norovirus is notorious for foodborne illnesses all over the world. Herein, we introduce a lateral flow assay(LFA) using peptide-functionalized gold nanoparticles(AuNPs) for the detection of norovirus virus-like particles. Anti-norovirus peptides as probes were conjugated to AuNPs and its detection performance was evaluated. As a result, the visual limit of detection with NoroBP-nonfoul-(FlexL)2 in LFA reaches as low as 107 particles/ml. The results indicate that NoroBP-nonfoul-(FlexL)2 has a potential as a novel type of LFA system for easy-to-use, cost-effective, and point-of-care diagnostic platform.
