Abstract

This paper reports a dual-immunopatterned (DIP) device for efficient isolation of the heterogeneous circulating tumor cells (CTCs). The performance of the device, which consists of anti-EpCAM-immobilized patterns (top) and in-house produced anti-63-B6-immobilized patterns (bottom), was verified using epithelial and mesenchymal breast cancer cell, MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231, respectively. The combination of two antibodies in the present devices facilitates isolation of heterogeneous CTCs regardless of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process.
