Abstract

The rapid evolution of wireless communication technologies has created a growing concern over electromagnetic (EM) radiation pollution, prompting the urgent need for advanced EM interference (EMI) shielding materials with multifunctional capabilities. MXene, recognized for its two-dimensional layered structure and the combined properties of metal and ceramic, stands out as a promising solution in this field. This paper comprehensively reviews the recent strides in enhancing the EM shielding effectiveness of MXene/polymer composites. It systematically examines the characteristics of polymer matrices, methodologies utilized for composite preparation, and EMI shielding properties exhibited. Moreover, this paper analyzes the observed EMI-shielding mechanisms across various MXene/polymer composites. Finally, it charts the future development prospects of MXene/polymer EMI shielding composites, shedding light on existing challenges and offering recommendations for forthcoming research directions.
